Details: Half day. Moderate to heavy rain throughout, with strong winds. Temperature hovered at 50.

Lake Elkhorn. Not checked, but we met Ostrowski brothers who only reported:

Lake Kittamaqundi.

  • Ring-billed Gull: 1

Wilde Lake.

  • Canada Goose: 30

  • Hooded Merganser: 1
  • Great Blue Heron: 1
  • Ring-billed Gull: 1
  • Great Black-backed Gull: 1
  • Hairy Woodpecker: 1

Centennial Park.

  • Canada Goose: 2

Brighton Dam.

  • Common Merganser: 300+

Big Branch.

  • Mallard: 3
  • Black Duck: 2
  • Common Merganser: 4
  • Belted Kingfisher: 1


  • Hooded Merganser: 17

At the first stop, Lake Elkhorn, bumped into the Ostrowski brothers, who had only found Ring-necked Ducks and Pied-billed Grebe. So we opted to continue on to Kittamaqundi. We encountered them again at Centennial, when Robert said he had heard an E. Phoebe, but I, nor, I think, anyone else in the party did. A thoroughly lovely day(!?!), but at least it wasn't cold.
