Bird Club Field Trips and Events Open to the public. Programs are held the second Thursday of each month except June, July, and August at 8:00 p.m., at Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks Headquarters. The field trips are an ideal way for both the beginner and the more experienced observer to learn and to share knowledge in an informal atmosphere. No pets. Directions to Howard Birding Spots Many of the good birding spots in Howard County are open to the public. Here is a list of some of those spots, how to get there, and what birds are likely to be seen or heard. Breeding Bird Atlas 2002-2006 Results for Howard County The MD/DC BBA mapped in detail the distribution of bird species breeding in Maryland and the District of Columbia (DC), primarily with volunteer help. This web page shows the results of the altas in Howard County. Birding Howard County The book is out of print and will not be reprinted. It has been replaced by the on-line edition of Birding Howard County.

Birding at Howard County Conservancy The Howard County Conservancy has its home at Mount Pleasant, a farm dating from 1692. The farm is open to the public by reservation or invitation for historic, environmental, and agricultural programs. The Bird Club often has scheduled field trips there.
