Note the two spots on the underside of the hindwing near the edge in the second photo. This view is necessary during April and May in order to distinguish Juvenal's Duskywing from the almost identical Horace's Duskywing (which lacks these spots). The two species look similar when viewed from the top and cannot be distinguished from that angle.

Juvenal's has a single brood in the spring and is not seen after the end of May.
